If you’re a gamer and confused to get the budget device with maximum performance then this article is for you. Many gamers suggest ZTE Redmagic for gaming but every model is more expensive than the older. What if a person has a low budget of 110K-120k Pakistani rupees and wants a poweful gaming device(used) that can handle all games smoothly and do not have lag issues. 5 Months ago, one of our team members was in the same situation and then he decided to buy a used Redmagic 8 Pro+.
Why He Chose the RedMagic 8 Pro+
His old device is iPhone 13 Pro Max which is good but he needs to upgrade their device with a gaming beast that can easily handle all heavy games without any lag or issue. After watching some reviews and videos he decided to buy a used Redmagic 8 Pro+ because of its active cooling fan, high performance, shoulder triggers and fast charging.
Gaming Performance After 5 Months (PUBG Focus)

His words:
“In the last 5 months, I have mostly played Pubg Mobile on this phone. It gives 120FPS on (Smooth/Extreme+) in game, also gives you a smooth experience overall. The thing I noticed is its connectivity in game is much better than all other competitor devices that come in the same price range. When i play games in below 28°C room temperature the performance is overall good in even long sessions, I didn’t feel any lag or issue. The gaming feels more interesting because of the full display screen and a cooling fan which controls heating issues and gives excellent performance.
The issue I noticed is when the room temperature is high(28°C+) then the device causes a heat issue and it’s too hot after some gameplays. I did not feel any lag but I face issues with fingers due to the warmth of this phone. When the temprature is high, 10-12FPS drops in the game and goes to 108/110FPS. The cooling fan spins faster to control heat but still I don’t recommend playing at high temperature. Although, if your room temperature is normal this device is best for gamers for long sessions.“
Build & Display

The first thing everyone notices is its amazing transparent back design which looks really aesthetic when you hold this device publicly. Also you can see its RGB-Fan and Lights on the back, which are adjustable. When you this device feels like a performance brick that is specially made for gamers. On the side of this phone, there is a dedicated red button to activate gaming mode immediately, also on the other side 2 pressure sensitive triggers that feel so fast. Overall, the phone’s look is great still in 2026 and feels special in your pocket.
Another strong point is its full screen display that did not have any punch hole or dot because of its under display camera(UDC). If you don’t know, it has a 6.8” FHD+ Amoled display with 120Hz of refresh rate. So, while we are playing games on it or watching any video, the colors are too good and get a better view because of the UDC feature.

Here you can enable back rgb lights from the device setting and can also change colors and animation. The back lights enhance its back but can consume more battery.
Software Experience (Chinese Version)

This RedMagic 8 Pro+ has CHINESE ROMS that work good overall, just the issue is we need to change language from ‘CHINESE’ to ‘ENGLISH’ and install Google Play Store from another source to get Google Services but after installing it everything is working fine.
Sometimes it feels like there are little issues for app opening and just navigating. The device is still on Android 15 and did not receive any major update. That’s the thing I didn’t like, at least the device went to Android 16. Although he did not like the OS for daily life use because of lack of os update and sometimes it feels buggy.
Cameras
They were really disappointed with the camera side, the rear camera is 50MP and just good for daytime photos, not good for low light photos. Just for the average photos, not recommended for professional photography. The front camera is very low because of the under display camera setup. Your selfies look too noisy.
Battery Life & Charging After 5 Months

The battery life is still better in 2026, its 5000mAh battery can last up to 1-1.2 days for normal use and 4-5 hours for the regular gaming sessions.
He used 90W charger for daily life and it charges the phone in 35-40mins from 1 to 100%. But when you use RedMagic 120W original charger it can charge 1-100% in just 14mins. (Advertised)

Final Verdict
In Pakistan, you can easily buy this device in used condition from 110,000 PKR to 125,000 PKR from the local market, depending on the storage, condition and location. It’s the best budget gaming phone with some strong futures and specs. My personal opinion is it’s best for a person who loves mobile gaming and wants a device with 80% of only gaming focused. If you’re not this type of person, you should go with other devices.
