Xiaomi is preparing to launch its new flagship models on 28 May, which are the Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro. Xiaomi also confirms many key features for those phones. Both phones come with Leica co-engineered cameras, massive battery and powerful processor from MediaTek Dimensity. Also both phones’ design stays familiar, while some major upgrades in hardware, photography and in battery.
Design & Display
The new upcoming Xiaomi 17T series rear camera looks like iPhone 16 style square camera island. Officials also confirm both phones are built with gorilla glass front and glass-fiber plastic back. Here’s four colors available: Black, Blue, Pink and White. Overall, both devices look premium & decent, and also feel better in hand because of minor tweeks.
Both phones have an AMOLED display with 68B colors and HDR10+ support. The difference is in size and refresh rate, the 17T model has a 6.59 inch display with 120Hz but the 17T Pro model has a bigger 6.83 inches display with 144Hz. The 17T Pro display makes you feel more smooth and fast because of its higher refresh rate, also ideal for gamers, watching movies and multitasking.
- Xiaomi 17T: 6.59” AMOLED, 120Hz, 1268×2756 pixels
- Xiaomi 17T Pro: 6.83” AMOLED, 144Hz, 1280×2772 pixels
Performance

Officials also confirm that the 17T model comes with Dimensity 8500 Ultra (4nm) and the Pro model has Dimensity 9500 (3nm) chipset. The base model also delivers strong performance with smooth Multitasking. It also performs best in capable gaming sessions. But here the Pro model makes another +point because of its chipset and high clocked CPU. It can also give you better performance then the base model, faster AI processing and also provide more smooth and superior gaming.
If we talk about the overall performance of both phones, the Dimensity 9500 chipset is 85% faster than the Dimensity 8500 ultra. Also the Dimensity 9500 can handle 50% more fast daily heavy tasks/loads than the 8500 Ultra.
Photography
The Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro both have Leica-co-engineered Triple camera setup on the back. Both have 50MP of main lens, 50MP of telephoto and 12MP of wideangle lens but still M17T Pro again won in this camera battle because of its bigger and more advanced image sensor. The Pro model has a Light Fusion 950 sensor in their camera, which is physically larger and wider f/1.6 aperture that allows it to capture more bright photos, reduce night shot grains and take better details as compared to the 17T model.
The 17T Pro’s flagship processor also supports it to record 8K videos at 30fps and 4K at 120fps. The standard 17T model can record only 4K videos at 60fps due to its upper midrange processor.
